Last week, we met up with a charming bunch visiting the island from Ohio! While they were in Hawaii, they decided to take some beach portraits in Oahu. The Buhers are a lovely family of seven who wanted to sit back, relax, and savor the warm weather. Joining Shelly, her husband, and their two kids were Shelly’s parents and her daughter’s boyfriend!

However, for this session, there were multiple dynamics we had to capture. Although the focus was on Shelly, her husband, and two kids — we got a few shots of individual groups and all seven members of this bunch! Continue scrolling to see more.

The Backdrop For Their Beach Portraits in Oahu

Since our delightful family was staying in Waikiki, they decided to have their session at Wai’alae Beach Park! We like this spot because its lofty palm trees and sandy shore are perfect for portraits. Then, the heavy cloud coverage and morning sun made every shot look more dreamy and fascinating! Most importantly, our favorite thing about this destination is the variety of backgrounds. We took advantage of the cerulean waves and lush greenery for these pictures!

When the Buhers arrived at their Oahu beach portraits session, they were already smiling! We had a great time capturing these moments because we knew this family enjoyed themselves. You can tell from their blissful expressions in every shot the Buhers were relishing their Hawaiian getaway! Above all, we like how lighthearted and enchanting every photo is. Lastly, we can’t wait to see which ones they put in frames!
