We loved, loved, loved being the Wu family’s photographer on Maui! Hailing from the busy Bay Area, this sweet trio was indulging in the quiet and calm vibe of the island.

We met up on the shores of Baldwin beach, which is just a quick drive from where the family was staying in Haiku. Overlooking the Northshore, this popular location is on the edge of Paia town and perfect for those who are comfortable with the impressive waves.

Four-year-old Alexis was an absolute joy to work with! Smart and witty, she had us giggling along to the songs of Daniel Tiger and drawing shapes in the sand.

Plus, she was a natural in front of the camera! Her sweet demeanor was radiant… it’s truly a Maui photographer’s dream to capture such a precious and beautiful child! In fact, she was such a natural, she even took a photo of her parents at the end of the session!

For the Wu family, this vacation was all about fun! And we love when children turn a Maui family portrait into a party! Redlight, greenlight, anyone? There’s nothing like capturing those candid family moments that are brimming with life and personality!

It’s photos like these that will be cherished by generations…

The Wu family let loose and simply enjoyed the evening on the beach. It was heartwarming to see that they’re not only a family but also close friends who truly enjoy each other’s company.

During the scope of their vacation, they had gone whale watching together,  boogie boarding, and even tried out Flatbread for some yummy pizza!

And to keep the ball rolling with delicious Northside eateries, after our shoot, the family went to dinner at the Paia Fish Market to celebrate their last night on Maui.
