Okay, so first things first before we share their Big Island wedding photography: Lauren and Chip are the kind of couple who make you believe in fate. Like, middle school sweetheart fate. We’re talking notes passed in class, prom dates, a little “finding ourselves” break in college (because, life), and now? Forever-ever kind of love. The best kind. The real kind. The kind that laughs a lot and gives big hugs and still can’t believe they get to marry their best friend.
Their Big Island wedding was everything they are — laid-back, fun, full of genuine love, and somehow both effortlessly cool and wildly heartfelt. They made it easy for us — mostly because their one request was basically, “We’re chill, but please tell us what to do with our hands.” Which, fair. And adorable.
We kicked off coverage with Lauren getting ready and her bridal party brought excitement. Matching outfits? Check. Good energy? Check. The moment they saw Lauren in her dress — veil flowing, beauty radiating, literal sparkle in her eye — jaws dropped, squeals were squealed, and happy tears may have been shed (no one’s naming names). She looked gorgeous, and that veil? Iconic. A real moment…
Then it was time for the first look. Chip was waiting oceanside, looking equal parts nervous and excited and like he knew the best moment of his life was about to walk up behind him. And when Lauren tapped his shoulder and he turned around? They were all smiles and soft “oh my gosh you look amazing” and laughter and “let’s do this thing!” vibes. It was an intimate moment just for them to savor.
Their Big Island wedding photography continued at the stunning Papa Kona venue, which was serving major tropical romance. The flowers were lush and vibrant, the view was amazing, and their people showed up in full force. The ceremony was everything, sincere, warm, a little funny, and totally them. You could feel how much it meant.
Then, just when we thought it couldn’t get better, Lauren and Chip slipped away for a few quiet moments by the beach for their newlywed portraits. Does it get any more romantic than her ethereal veil on the sand? These two are picture-perfect in every way. The light was soft and glowy, the waves crashed nearby, and they got to just be, hand-in-hand, a little sandy, and so completely in love. They had the most amazing sunset sendoff that left everyone feeling the magic of the day!
Lauren and Chip, thank you for trusting us to capture your day. You radiated joy, you laughed through portraits, and you made your wedding everything it should be: a celebration of you. May your life together be full of long walks, spontaneous dance parties, and always, always knowing how lucky you are to have found each other so early and so perfectly.
Congrats, lovebirds! May you have decades full of love, laughter, and joy!
