This Kauai Proposal Portrait at Shipwrecks Beach was the perfect mix of romance, tropical beauty, and just enough suspense to keep things interesting. Mason and Angie came to Kauai from Seattle after falling a little bit in love with Hawaii on a previous trip to Maui.

They’ve been together for a few years, and while Angie had a sneaking suspicion a proposal might be somewhere on the horizon, Mason still wanted the actual moment to feel like a surprise. And judging by that smile afterward, mission very much accomplished.

And because this is Hawaii, naturally a chicken showed up. One tiny feathered photo-bomber popped up behind Mason and Angie as they laughed together, just casually becoming part of their proposal story. Chickens appearing absolutely everywhere is one of those wonderfully quirky Kauai things, so we kind of love that one decided to make a cameo.

Once the secret was officially out, these two slipped straight into celebration mode. There were barefoot walks along the sand, oceanfront cuddles, dramatic cliffs, happy kisses, and one particularly gorgeous new ring getting its well-deserved close-up. Angie’s tropical teal dress could not have been more perfect against the blue water and rugged Kauai coastline. Honestly, Shipwrecks understood the assignment.

Congratulations, Mason and Angie! We’re so happy we could capture the beginning of this next adventure for you two.
