With Rehan in Japan and Kathleen in the states — their time together is always limited. So they decided to visit Hawaii because it’s in the middle of both destinations. Our beautiful couple wanted to celebrate the New Year and their future of not being separated by an ocean! Although this session started as Oahu couples portraits, they turned into a heartwarming proposal shoot. Continue scrolling to see for yourself!

Originally, Kathleen booked this session — hoping we’d capture the excitement they feel together on camera. Later, Rehan informs us he wants to surprise Kathleen and propose during the shoot! Many people made this evening remarkable and romantic for our lovely couple. Above all, we’re glad we captured every magical moment from this sunset occasion!

The Enchanting Oahu Couples Portraits

The photographer for this session was Audrey Lee, and she effortlessly captured the proposal! When Rehan gets down on one knee, it’s a breathtaking moment. Especially with the foamy waves in the background and the dramatic rocks surrounding them. However, our favorite shot is when Kathleen says yes! You can see our stunning couple’s blissful faces knowing they’re newly engaged to one another. 

Makapu’u Beach Park set a fairytale backdrop for this session. We like this East Oahu spot because it has exquisite scenery. On one side, you have the epic mountains and vivid greenery. Then on the other, you’ll see the sapphire water, striking rocks, and ivory sand. Most importantly, this location made every portrait feel dreamy!

Jenn from Oasis Picnics set up a charming scene for Rehan and Kathleen! This arrangement was bohemian and elegant — it created a stunning background for these Oahu couples portraits. You can see how much our delightful duo enjoyed it from their radiant smiles and looks of adoration. However, it’s their love for another making every shot captivating!
