Hawaii is the perfect place to celebrate significant occasions and make memories! While the Rutledges were on the island, they had a session with us. Not only did they want Kauai family portraits taken, but they asked us to capture Emma and Trey’s engagement photography! Above all, we know you’ll love these pictures as much as we do. We adore this collection and know the Rutledges will — especially since a breathtaking location set the scene! The weather was flawless for this session: light clouds, a vibrant sun, and an enchanting atmosphere created the perfect background. Then enhancing the dreamy ambiance was the island’s natural scenery! Vivid greenery, cerulean waves, and striking rock formations exquisitely decorate the backdrop of each shot. Most importantly, we wouldn’t have chosen a better spot for their session!

Why They Took Kauai Family Portraits & Engagement Photography

The Rutledges are a beautiful group of eight visiting the island from New York City and Kansas! Besides having a family vacation, this charming bunch was also celebrating Emma and Trey’s engagement. Since they were in paradise, they couldn’t think of a better destination to get moments photographed! The Rutledges were looking forward to capturing fun family photos while enjoying their time in Hawaii. However, this gorgeous party was thrilled to see Emma and Trey get lovely shots of their own!

This session started with us taking the Rutledge’s Kauai family portraits, and then we ended by focusing on Emma and Trey. When we began capturing this engagement photography, the sun was in a perfect position. It left a soft golden glow on the seaside — creating a romantic and intimate ambiance! In addition, we adore how blissful Emma and Trey look. You can tell this tropical celebration is unforgettable from the bright smiles on their faces!
