8 Years Time – The Solano’s Oahu Family Portrait
Eight years ago, we got to photograph the Solano family on the beaches of Maui. And this year? They came back, but this time to Oahu, and this time to Papailoa Beach. And honestly? It was all kinds of lovely for their Oahu family portrait.
From the moment they stepped onto the sand, it was clear: this wasn’t just another vacation photo session. This was a celebration of time, of who they are now, how they’ve grown, and the love that’s stayed steady through it all.
The light at Papa’iloa Beach was golden and gentle, the kind that makes the ocean sparkle and your heart do a little happy dance. The Solanos brought all the energy, bright colors, bright smiles, and a sense of ease that made the whole session feel like the sweetest reunion.

Their Oahu family portrait session was centered around a mix of posed and candid portraits: the goofy, the playful, the let’s-just-be-us kind of shots. And they nailed it.
There’s something so special about being asked to photograph a family again after nearly a decade. It’s like being invited to witness a second chapter. And honestly? This chapter is looking so good on the Solanos.
From walking hand-in-hand by the shore to making hearts with their hands against the horizon (because of course they did), every moment was warm and fun and full of connection.
We’re honored to have been a part of both their Maui memories and now these beautiful Oahu ones. Here’s to more beach days, more love, and maybe a third session in another eight years? Let’s hope for sooner rather than later!
