We capture Maui photography for families from across the world. So it was extra special when we got to take photos for our dear neighbors, the Birkholzes.

This sweet family has lived on Maui for 12 years, so they’re basically living the dream. And every few years, when it’s time to take family portraits, they’re lucky enough to find some of the most scenic spots in the world, only steps away from their own backyard.

Our Three Sons

The three Birkholz boys range in age from 13 to 19 — they’re growing up so fast. And now that their youngest is taller than Mom & Dad, they officially have three grown sons, all of whom make them so proud. 

In addition to capturing their regular family portraits that they send out to family and friends, their Maui photography session was also a chance to get senior pictures for their middle son, who is graduating at the end of the school year. 

This is a busy family that finds joy and beauty in each day. We are so glad they chose us to capture their family portraits in Maui!

Maluaka Beach – A Scenic Maui Photography Location

The Birkholz Family chose Maluaka Bech for their portrait session. This is a South Maui beach located in Makena, and it has really amazing sunsets. Another cool thing about this location is that there are some grassy areas with really pretty landscaping, so you can get some scenic shots off the sand. 

This laid-back crew kicked off their slippers to walk barefoot on the grass. Their portraits are both polished and fun, a perfect balance for Maui photography.
