The Alves family was an absolute delight to be around and photograph! Their session was so special because Mom and dad were celebrating 20 years of marriage. Maui beach portraits were definitely the best way to highlight this monumental event and get some updated family portraits!

We paid extra attention to capturing some couple portraits for them since they didn’t get them on their wedding day. Mom picked up a beautiful bridesmaid style dress from David’s Bridal that was the perfect combination of formal and casual for both family portraits and couple portraits. She looked stunning in her photos with her loving husband. We really enjoyed spending time with the Alves family and helping them to celebrate 20 years of unconditional love!

We really liked the Alves family’s clothing choices. It showed the individuality of each person while not trying to be too “matchy, matchy”. What to wear for Maui family portraits can be one of the most difficult parts of the family portrait planning process.

Towards the end of the session, while we focused on Sanya & Nelson, their youngest son decided to go for a dip in the ocean. The whole family decided “let’s have fun with it” and they splashed around in the ocean together!
