Returning to the island where they were married, Mom and Dad were excited to once again capture Maui Beach Portraits with their growing kiddos. Three years ago we met the Colombo Family on the shore of Baby Beach in Lahaina, and oh, boy (and girl!) have they grown! This is the place their love story opened on a new chapter, and it’s always a joy to help them freeze these special moments in time.
The Maui Beach Portraits
The session began with a gentle overcast sky, which created soft and mellow lighting. But almost as soon as the kids started to let loose, the clouds split and a rich sherbert sky broke through! The warm tones played perfectly with our crew’s pastel outfits and glistened off the rolling waves. From sibling embraces to sibling races, from Dad swings to Mom twirls, the Colombo Family was all about enjoying their Maui Beach Portraits, and we are ALWAYS here for that!
When this spectacular crew looks back on their family photos, we hope they’re right there again in the moment, remembering the sand between their toes, the kiss of the ocean breeze, and the soft hands of their sweet loved ones.
Southshore Beach set the stage with bursting colors and plenty of eye contours. We stayed near the rocky embankment for most of our session where we could capture both leggy palm shots and rustic lava outcroppings. The kids had a blast playing on the sand and discovering the nooks and crannies along the shore, while Mom and Dad shared an intimate moment or two on the island where their journey as a family of two first began.
