After delaying their family vacation in 2020 due to the pandemic, the Guerrero family finally made it to Hawaii for their Maui family portrait two years later! This has been a much-anticipated trip for all, especially their girls, who adore the beach. They haven’t had their family portrait taken in over two years – it was long overdue, to say the least!
One thing that the family hoped for was a stunning sunset for their family portrait. Each Hawaiian sunset is uniquely different so it’s a delight for our photographers too! They certainly channeled a Maui sunset in their vibrantly hued attire don’t you think?! Jennifer said they usually choose whites and blues for a family shoot but opted for a tropical palette! Shooting bright colors always pop against the cool blues of the sky and ocean. We love it when a family doesn’t shy away from color!
Our Pride and Joy
Their darling daughters have been to Hawaii before, but they were too little to remember much! Olivia, in fuschia, will turn 14 soon, and Quinn is 9. We think Maui is one of the best destinations for a family getaway! It’s relaxed, and there is so much to explore in the natural world, from the tidepools to the bamboo forests. The girls loved playing together – having a sibling makes a vacation so much more fun! Seeing their parents beaming with pride behind the lens was sweet to see as we shot their beautiful portraits by the shore. The girls were so photogenic and needed little direction – natural beauties!
It also happened to be Jennifer and Josh’s 17th anniversary! They couldn’t believe how time had flown by since their wedding day! As you can tell from their endearing photos, how close and supportive of a family they are. They chose one of our favorite beach locations, Lahaina Shores, for their family portrait. This is one of our top location picks to catch the sunset – even for the locals!
