From the moment we heard this crew’s story we were humbled and honored to take their Maui Family Portraits. The Henricksen Family are truly remarkable! When Kyle and Jennifer met they knew right away they were meant to be together. At the young ages of 20 and 21, they were excited about what the future would hold for them! Shortly after getting married Jennifer’s mom passed away and they selflessly took on the responsibility of raising her little sister Destani (age 5 at the time, now 18) as their own. Then 3 years ago, Kyle’s brother passed away from a heart condition and they are now raising their niece Alyssa as their own as well! 12-year-old Zoey and 10-year-old Cohen are Kyle and Jennifer’s biological children, their daddy is the light of their lives. And it’s easy to see why!
When Kyle was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer at the age of 35, his loved ones and community rallied around the Henricksen Family! He not only is a son, brother, husband, father, and friend but he is also a man who has chosen a career path to protect and serve others as a Police Officer. And now is battling to fight for his own life! The day after undergoing extensive chemo treatment at Stanford, Kyle and his family hopped on a plane to visit Hawaii. Kyle is a huge history buff and visiting Pearl Harbor has always been on his bucket list! After staying in Honolulu for a couple of days they made their way over to Maui for some serious relaxation!
We can’t think of a better place to recoup and spend time with those you love most. Taking Maui Family Portraits was a great way to help document this very meaningful and memorable trip!
