Jayda is celebrating her graduation from Kamehameha High School, and what are the chances that her Maui senior portrait photographer is also a fellow alumni! Cheynice, the artist behind the lens, said that Jayda was a “Hawaiian princess” during the afternoon of their session. Sporting a gorgeous lei po’o (flower crown) and surrounded by the lush greenery of Honolua Jungle, Jayda looks like royalty!
She was right at home in the tropical forest, which isn’t much of a surprise considering she lives in Kahana — and right across from a beach, no less! Jayda is a hula dancer and plans to continue her education and major in Hawaiian Studies at UHMC. She’s the baby of her family, and even though her graduation was canceled due to the pandemic, her crew arranged a drive-by celebration to cheer her on with a giant family-sized: CONGRATS!!
We can’t get enough of this senior’s epic glow! Cheynice, Jayda’s Maui senior portrait photographer, said: “Her free spirit and graceful smile were gorgeous.” We have to agree and then some!
Jayda has been dancing hula since the age of …(wait for it)… THREE! She currently dances with Uluwehi Guerrero – Halau Ka ulu o ka la, and she also dances Tahitian with te ohi nui. Did we mention she’s also been playing tennis since she was 8 and has been in cheer for the last 3 years? What else is this senior capable of? Trick question — she’s capable of anything!
Not only does Jayda glow like royalty, this senior is a queen! She’s rocking her confidence! After glancing over these photos, we’re pretty certain the phrase “beautiful inside and out” was coined specifically for Jayda. Keep scrolling for more inspiring shots!
