This Maui family portrait on Southside Beach was bursting with smiles! Geoffrey and Haley flew in from Pennsylvania to escape the cold with their seven-month-old son, Landon (Who we’ve appropriately nicknamed “cuteness incarnate”).

Family portraits are always special, but they’re especially treasured when they capture young children. They freeze in time a special stage that changes like the churning seas. And we were honored that the Pazder family chose Karma Hill Photography to help them frame this cherished phase in their family’s timeline.

Now a retired RN, Haley owns a fitness business and does some mommy and me classes. It’s quite clear that she has a special touch when it comes to pampering her adorable little cherub … and so does dad! His tender love for his family was an inspiration to capture.

Oh, no… I think we just melted to the floor.

As the sun dipped lower in the sky, the horizon was set alight in a myriad of steel and french blues. The shore was flooded with ambient light, making for a seascape so beautiful it was hard to believe it wasn’t a mirage.

We decided we didn’t need the ocean for this shot… since it was already in his eyes…

The vibrant afternoon faded into a sunset of prismatic light and deep, dusky tones, setting the stage for a heavenly couple’s portrait. Later that week, the family hoped to witness the unforgettable sunrise on Haleakalā and visit the lush, tropical Hana side before traveling to Oahu to see the historical navy ships of Pearl Harbor.
