The Lutz family was in for a surprise at when they woke up to a blanket of snow at their home in Denver, Colorado. Despite the unexpected winter wonderland, they would be hopping on a plane in just a few hours and heading to the sunny beaches of Maui! So naturally, they were excited for some sunshine and wanted to remember this special vacation by booking a Maui family portrait session! It was also a birthday surprise too, as you’ll find out!
The Lutz family had been to Maui previously; in fact, they had been there when their oldest daughter, who is now 14 years old! Since then, they have welcomed two more girls into the family, and it was Taryn’s 9th birthday which made this trip particularly memorable for them all!
You can imagine the girls’ enthusiasm when they finally learned they were going to Hawaii since they didn’t find out until approximately a week before the trip! What a wonderful birthday surprise! Their darling girls, Scarlett, Harlowe, and Taryn, who posed perfectly for our camera, were eager to go to the beach and explore the island together…
The Lutz family arrived at Southside Beach on the day of their Maui family portrait session, prepared to capture some priceless moments… mixed in with a few silly ones too! It’s hard not to be playful at the beach with your siblings! Our beautiful family was beaming; the setting sun was shining and casting a golden glow over the tropical surroundings…
Birthday Giggles
Their sweet girls had the best time playing together by the shoreline…they were a giggling bunch! Their playful sundresses were relaxed and perfect for their Maui family portrait.
It was a joy to shoot such a happy family occasion in such a beautiful location! The golden glow of the setting sun further enhanced the cheerful and warm feeling of their lovely portraits…
Our dear Lutz family may have started their trip surrounded by snow, but they ended it surrounded by the warmth of the Hawaiian sun and the love of their family! We hope you had a wonderful birthday Taryn!
