This was a session to remember – a Maui proposal portrait and birthday all wrapped up in one! Matt and Savannah have been together for three and a half years, having met in Charleston, South Carolina, at their last duty station. Despite starting their careers in the military, timing has played a big part in their lives — so much so that they managed to get stationed together in Alaska without being married, which is rare!

They reached this milestone on their own time, and although Savannah suspected that a proposal was on the horizon, she had no clue when or where it would take place! Thankfully, we were there to capture the big moment!

Of Course, It’s A Yes!

On what turned out to be an unforgettable day for both of them, Matt took her up to the cliffs of Ironwoods Beach for an outdoor couples portrait. The two were already dressed fit for the occasion, which made it easier for Matt to make sure everything looked picture-perfect before popping the question.

It was all planned out – he waited until Savannah’s back was turned so that she wouldn’t suspect anything before proposing right then and there – and with jitters running through him, Matt dropped down on one knee and proposed! The best part? It just happened to be Savannah’s birthday too! Our hearts skipped a beat as she said yes! And Matt’s probably did too! And she said yes, as you can probably tell in these photos below!

You can imagine how incredibly sweet this surprise proposal was for these two; certainly nothing less than magical! The couple now has something special to remember forever – a beautiful memory encapsulated in time with sweeping views of nature highlighted by the setting sun. Their Maui proposal portrait was just the beginning of their next chapter… Here’s wishing these two lovebirds all the happiness during this exciting new chapter of their lives!

Matt said the one thing he was looking forward to most during their Maui proposal portrait session was Savannah’s look when she saw him on one knee. How adorable is that?! A look that is full of love and happiness!
