The Big Island proposal portrait of Neil and Laura is the kind of tale that starts with something as simple as a dog’s third birthday party, yet romantically somehow spirals into something much bigger! It was June 2019 in San Francisco when their paths crossed for the first time. They were just two strangers brought together by a shared love of canines, and by August, they were inseparable!
Their journey together wasn’t the typical kind. They spent three years bonding through the chaos of a global pandemic, finding comfort in each other’s company in a city that was suddenly quieter, slower. When they moved to Kailua, Oahu, to live with Laura’s sister, it wasn’t just a change of scenery; it was the beginning of a new chapter. Hawaii became the place they first lived together under one roof, and it carved a special place in their hearts.
Now, settled in Seattle with their dog, Junebug, Hawaii remained a constant pull. It’s a place where they could reconnect with the family and memories they’d made. So when the time came for Neil to pop the question, he knew it had to be in Hawaii, on the Big Island, surrounded by family! Curious to see what happened? Keep reading!

And here’s where the magic happened: our photographer, a true ninja, was lying in wait to capture every second for their Big Island proposal portrait! The joy on the faces says it all! And we were there to capture every sweet, intimate second, from the proposal to the family moments that followed!

What a joy it was to witness, to capture, and to be part of. Neil and Laura’s love story is only just beginning, and we can’t wait to see where it goes next. Congratulations to the happy couple!
