First things first: this was Sam and Stephanie’s very first trip to Hawaii. And what better way to kick off a dream vacation than with a proposal straight out of a Nicholas Sparks novel? Sam, clearly winning the Best Fiancé Ever Award, planned to pop the question early in the trip so they could spend their whole adventure newly engaged. How sweet is that? And it gets even better as you’ll see!
Six Years, One Dog, and a Lifetime of Adventures
Sam and Stephanie have been together for six amazing years, building a love story filled with college memories, long-distance marathons, a global pandemic, and a very good dog. Stephanie’s family is from New York, Sam’s from Massachusetts, and somehow they made it all work—even with four years of long-distance loving.
Two years ago, they moved in together, and now? Now they’re taking on life hand-in-hand as true partners. Traveling, adventuring, and making memories—one beach at a time.
Stephanie had no idea when the proposal would happen—just that it was coming someday soon. (Spoiler: it was coming very soon.)
A Sunset Straight from a Dream
Ironwoods Beach delivered every ounce of the magic Sam had hoped for and then some. It’s one of the most romantic spots on the island—rugged cliffs, endless waves, and sunsets that turn the sky into a watercolor painting.
As the sun began to dip, the ocean breezes swirled around them, and the moment felt huge—and somehow still perfectly intimate.
They both were beyond happy in that moment. It couldn’t have been more perfect!
