We recently had the pleasure of photographing the Scott’s Maui family portrait! It was their boy’s first trip to Maui, but Jyll and Rick have been to Hawaii in 1997 (The Big Island and Oahu), and Jyll also came to Maui and Oahu when she was 12 years old. So This trip was long overdue, let’s say that! The island really showed off for our happy family, as you’ll see below!

A Family Passion

One of the most unique things about the Scott family is all boys (and dad) runners, which adds an extra layer of closeness to their family dynamic. They all have a passion for running, and we’re sure Jyll is right there cheering them all on!

Aidan, who is almost 22, runs cross country and track at Western Colorado University. Kellen, 18 (who graduated high school this May), will also run cross country and track for the same university as his big brother in the fall! And Curren, almost 15, the youngest of the bunch, will be a freshman in high school and plans to run cross country and track for the high school too! They must have taken after their Dad, Rick, who loves running as well and especially enjoys trail running and competing in ultra trail races! The Scotts are one active bunch, and we hope they had so much fun running on the island’s beaches…

Speaking of beaches, Southside Beach WOWed again for our lovely family! Their Maui family portraits capture the essence of why we love this location so much. There are so many beautiful backdrops to choose from, and the sunsets rarely disappoint!

And it wouldn’t be a complete Maui family portrait session without a rogue wave or splash! The Scotts took it all in good stride 😉 laughing and joking throughout the whole time. The sky turned into a beautiful golden, pink color that added another element of magic to their portrait session. So stunning! After all this time, these Hawaiian portraits were well worth the wait!
