The Montgomery family’s first trip to Hawaii was basically the perfect recipe: milestone celebrations, family togetherness, and a Big Island family portrait. Oh, and did we mention it was their very first time in the islands? Cue the happy tears and the SPF 50!
Old Kona Airport Beach showed off with its soft sand, dramatic lava rocks, and a postcard-worthy sunset. With Mark and Lanell celebrating an anniversary and both Allyson and Clayton marking their college graduations (go grads!!), it felt like the beach itself was clapping for them. They had the best time!
The whole family looked absolutely radiant, coordinated in outfits that somehow nailed the “we match without being matchy-matchy” vibe. You could feel the love and pride in every hug, every laugh, every “stand over here for just one more photo” moment…

Our photographer captured them in every combination you could imagine! Their energy was relaxed, the laughter flowed, and the photos? Let’s just say they’re frame-worthy on about ten different walls.
It’s no small thing to press pause and gather your people for a moment like this, especially when life is full of transitions and new chapters. But the Montgomerys did it beautifully, soaking in all the aloha, joy, and love the Big Island had to offer. Their Big Island family portrait will be one to remember!

The backlight in the Montgomerys’ sunset portraits? Pure magic. As the sun dipped behind the horizon at Old Kona Airport Beach, it cast that soft, golden glow that photographers dream of; warm, diffused, and utterly flattering. It wrapped the family in a halo of light, highlighting every laugh, every hug, and every look of love exchanged. Their coordinated outfits seemed to shimmer, and their smiles? Glowing right along with the sun!

Congratulations on all the amazing milestones, Montgomery family! You were a joy to photograph, and we hope these portraits always remind you of this sunny, laughter-filled, salt-sprinkled celebration in paradise!
