Last week we got to be Janiece & Ian’s Maui Hawaii Wedding Photographer. It was a pretty Kapalua day with gentle sea breezes and light cloud cover, but the best part was the inspiring couple.
Janiece & Ian have such a sweet love for each other — it’s a relationship built on trust and respect, honesty and hope. We loved seeing these two pledge their lives to each other and celebrate their relationship in such a beautiful setting.
Take a look at some of their Maui wedding photos — we had so much fun capturing these!
Beautiful, Inside and Out
Janiece & Ian wed at the Steeple House in Kapalua. We love working as a Maui Hawaii Wedding Photographer here. It has a scenic lawn with sweeping views and a charming indoor space that’s well-lit and air-conditioned.
Before we went inside to capture some getting-ready shots, we snapped some gorgeous images of the ceremony setup. White Orchid Wedding coordinated this Maui wedding, and they helped Janiece & Ian choose the perfect decor.
The setup featured a simple round gold arch with a full, tropical bouquet. They included natural wood chairs, which went really well with this tree-framed site.
Then it was on to the bridal suite, where Janiece awaited the arrival of her handsome groom. Even before she changed into her stunning gown, she was already a radiant bride!
Having a First Look with Your Maui Hawaii Wedding Photographer
Janiece & Ian decided to have a first look before their ceremony. This allowed them to shake off some pre-wedding jitters and get in a few extra moments together during their busy wedding day.
Capturing first-look photography is challenging but worthwhile. We want to get that priceless look on the groom’s face as he sees his bride for the first time, but we also couldn’t miss that final look of excitement on Janiece’s face as she tapped Ian on the shoulder.
We’re so glad we captured both of their emotions in this pivotal moment!
Janiece & Ian took a moment to ooh and ahh at each other (they looked amazing and were full of compliments!). Then they did something that we really loved: they shared personal vows with each other.
Many couples like to share vows privately so they can focus on their words and emotions without the added nerves of speaking in front of a group. It was such a sweet moment, setting the mood for a relaxed and loving wedding ceremony.
The Ceremony Begins!
Now that we all had gotten a few early tears out of the way, it was time to get married! We loved this Maui wedding processional for several reasons:
- Marvin Tevaga played ukulele for it. He’s basically a local celebrity because he’s such a great musician!
- Ian walked in with his sweet parents
- They had a flower boy who tossed petals out of a fanny pack. It was the cutest thing ever.
- Janieces bridal entrance was stunning and proved the processional can still be emotional and meaningful even if the couple has seen each other already.
As a Maui Hawaii Wedding Photographer, it’s little details like this that inspire us. We love seeing couples incorporate their unique style into each moment of their wedding!
After The Ceremony…
Rev. Ernest Puaa officiated the ceremony and pronounced Janiece & Ian married. You could probably hear this crowd cheering all the way across the channel to Molokai!
But the fun didn’t end there. They used their time at the Steeple House to have a small cake cutting and first dance, which was a lot of fun.
They wanted to get a few of these reception-style shots in while they still had their Maui Hawaii Wedding Photographer present, and it made for a nice flow from ceremony to celebrations.
Then we captured a few group photos with their supportive guests. There’s a big lawn space where we could get everyone in a great shot.
We were extra excited to capture their couples portraits on Maui, so we headed to the nearby sea cliffs with Janiece & Ian. It’s here where they soaked up their newlywedded bliss, admired the beautiful scenery, and took some jaw-dropping photos!
Off to Celebrate
We took final photographs on the sandy beach before bidding farewell to these lovebirds. They were off the Old Lahaina Luau to celebrate Hawaiian style with their friends and family.
It was so much fun spending the afternoon with Janiece & Ian, and we’re so grateful they chose us as their Maui Hawaii Wedding Photographer!
Congratulations, Janiece & Ian! Mahalo for allowing us to be a part of your special day, and we can’t wait to welcome you to Maui again soon!
