Surrounded by coconut palms and wild mesquite, Joan and Gary chose the striking Po’olenalena Beach for the backdrop of their couples portrait in Maui, Hawaii.

It was at this very shore that they exchanged their heartfelt wedding vows five years ago. Yet it only took a few minutes hanging out with this gorgeous couple to see that their love truly transcends time. It was as if just yesterday they had strolled along the beach for their special day. 

Years ago, Joan and Gary inspired us when we had the pleasure of capturing their Maui engagement photos. And they just keep inspiring!

One look at their radiant faces and our hearts were warmed by the affection Joan and Gary feel for each other. The lovely couple shines against the Hawaiian oasis with the wild greenery of Wailea painting the scene. 

We adored how open and sincere the pair were with their devotion to each other. Their romantic gestures blew us away. 

Draped in hues of denim and French blue, the couple adds a splash of contemporary to the dreaminess of the Hawaiian coastline.

When the sun slipped below the horizon, the couple was treated to a burst of coral and rouge. Their love story even had the sky blushing!

Captured under the waxing moon and flooded in the atmospheric light of evening, this couple was positively luminous!

After the shoot, Joan and Gary had a romantic dinner at the innovative and sophisticated Gannon’s restaurant—just as they did on their wedding day!

Five years from now, the Massachusetts couple dreams of returning to Po’olenalena Beach for their ten-year vow renewal. But this time, they said, they’ll bring their kids!
