Some seasons of life feel especially worth pausing for, the kind where everything has just shifted, but the next chapter hasn’t quite begun yet. The Schindel family’s Big Island family portrait at Kukio Beach was exactly that kind of moment. Visiting Hawaii together on a family vacation, they gathered to celebrate a brand-new season: their first trip as a family of newlyweds!
Some members of the family had visited Hawaii before, while for others it was a first, which made the experience feel both familiar and fresh all at once. But the real significance of this trip wasn’t the destination. It was the timing. Both kids had just gotten married, and before life inevitably grows and expands, before grandbabies, new traditions, and even fuller calendars, they wanted to capture this version of their family. Just the six of them. Exactly as they are right now. We are honored to have captured this special moment for them!

Kukio Beach offered the perfect setting. Soft sand, expansive shoreline, and the kind of calm that invites you to slow down and breathe a little deeper. The session felt relaxed and unhurried, reflecting their shared intention to simply spend quality time together. There was a quiet sense of gratitude underneath it all.
The portraits captured something truly special, not just smiling faces, but connection. This family has already celebrated big milestones through wedding photos, but these images tell a different story. They document togetherness without ceremony. Love without formality. A moment that doesn’t need an occasion beyond being here together. And they all brought the aloha spirit with purple orchid leis!

These photos will become touchstones and reminders of a season when everyone gathered, newly married, full of possibility, and deeply connected. A beautiful chapter preserved at Kukio Beach, before the next one begins. Happy 2026 to you all!

Some milestones deserve more than a dinner reservation or a quiet toast; they deserve a moment that feels as meaningful as the years behind it. The Bonte family chose to celebrate their 30th anniversary with a Maui family portrait at Southside Beach, and it was the kind of decision that instantly made sense. Soft light,
