Let’s talk about milestones. Not just the big ones like weddings and graduations, but the quieter, just-as-important ones, like turning thirteen. The kind where your daughter is growing into her own, radiating confidence and sweetness and just the tiniest bit of sass.
The Campbells knew this moment was worth capturing. Ava was celebrating her 13th birthday, and what better place to mark such a beautiful new chapter than on the shores of Kauai? With her parents and grandparents by her side, we gathered at Shipwrecks Beach for a golden, Kauai family portrait session that was nothing short of magical.

Dressed in a dreamy, flowy blue dress that shimmered in the light and echoed the color of the sea behind her. Ava looked like she belonged on the cliffs of Shipwrecks Beach! The wind caught her dress just right, and the waves crashed below. And it was one of those moments that felt like a scene from a movie.
We photographed all the combinations: Ava solo (looking effortlessly elegant and oh-so-confident), on the cliff, the three of them, snuggled close, both couples laughing with each other. And of course, the full family lineup with grandparents wrapped in the moment too. One thing is for sure that they are all so proud of her!

There’s something about Hawaii that makes these milestones feel bigger, in the best way. The kind of place that says: “This moment matters. Let’s make it last.” And that’s exactly what the Campbells did. They made time to pause, celebrate, and document this fleeting season of life before it turns into something new. Also, can we talk about the twin energy here in the outfits?! How adorable!

To the Campbells: thank you for inviting us into such a special celebration. Ava, you shined, inside and out, and we have no doubt the years ahead will be as beautiful and bold as that cliffside breeze.
Happy 13th, sweet girl!
