The Panamas don’t just book portraits. They create memories that feel like stories worth retelling. A family of five, Diego, Jenny, Alex (10), Aria (9), and Jack (7) they returned back to Maui (one of their favorite places) to celebrate their 14th anniversary. And, true to form, they made it unforgettable with a Maui family portrait!
Maui is their family’s happy place, and they are multireturn clients! It feels like meeting up with old friends. A relaxed portrait session on vacation slows life down, pulls them out of busy soccer schedules, and gives them space to laugh together. All three kids are soccer stars! Alex, the oldest, is Jack’s partner-in-crime for sports and pranks. Aria balances her brothers with sweetness and just the right amount of sass. And Jack? Our firecracker. He’s full of humor, energy, and grins that light up the camera.
This time, the setting was the gorgeous Four Seasons Maui. Palm trees, ocean views, and a sense of celebration that matched the family’s milestone. And because the Panamas never do ordinary, they’re planning a recreation of The Singing Butler. Jenny and Aria in red. Diego and the boys in black suits, top hats, and umbrellas in hand. It’s bold, theatrical, and so completely them. It was fun, playful, and there was still time for some more traditional, “beach mode” vacation looks too…after a dance or two on the beach, of course!

And just like that, a second outfit change into something more casual and vacation-ready! We love it when families coordinate as well as the Panamas do for their Maui family portrait session. It makes for cohesive and timeless portraits, which, in our book, are always a good idea.
Our team of Maui family photographers believes portraits should feel alive and never unnaturally posed. We focus on connection, the squeeze of a hand, the joke that makes everyone laugh, the look parents share after 14 years together. For the Panamas, these images aren’t just for today. They’ll go straight into the family album that already holds years of sessions with us, proof of kids growing up, and a marriage that keeps getting stronger. Curious to see one of their session from years past? Here is one of their very first with their kiddos, just babies at the time! How crazy time flies…

This session unfolded at the Four Seasons Maui, a location as timeless as their anniversary. We took full advantage of the property, wandering from elegant fountains to manicured gardens to sweeping ocean views. Each corner of the resort offered a new backdrop, giving their portraits a mix of sophistication and fun. The fountains reflected the bright morning light, and the garden and shoreline set the stage for carefree, barefoot moments.

Mahalo, Panama family! As always, it’s a joy to capture your beautiful family and witness how much your kids have grown over the years! We hope these are beautiful new memories to add to your family album at home. Until next time!
