Some love stories take the scenic route. Detours. Plot twists. A little “wait, what if?” before the big oh, this is it...a Kauai proposal portrait session to remember!
Kyle and Kelsey’s story started back in 2019 at the University of Northern Iowa, where they met in college, became friends, and then… life happened. Kyle moved to Arizona. Kelsey moved to Vegas. The timing wasn’t right, and they lost touch.
But the universe, apparently, loves a good second chance.
When they reconnected, everything clicked fast. Now, a year and eight months later (and one year of living together), they’ve built something steady, joyful, and full of laughter. The kind of relationship that feels like home, no matter where you are…

Which made Hā‘ena Beach the perfect place for Kyle’s next move.
Under the guise of a casual beach walk, Kyle led Kelsey down the beach to a scattering of red roses, while our photographer blended in as just another sun-soaked beachgoer. Ninja style. Fully undercover. Cameras disguised.
And then…he dropped to one knee!
Kelsey’s reaction was instant: surprise, joy, happy tears, and a yes that echoed louder than the waves. The moment felt amazing and intimate all at once, wrapped in soft light, salty air, and the soft rhythm of the ocean…

Afterward, they wandered barefoot along the sand, soaking in the magic of the moment, laughing and holding each other just a little tighter. Their portraits were filled with natural smiles, playful energy, and that unmistakable glow that comes from knowing your life just changed in the very best way.
From college friends to forever partners, Kyle and Kelsey’s journey is proof that timing really is everything. And that sometimes, love just needs a second pass to get it exactly right!

Congratulations, Kyle and Kelsey! Your next chapter starts here, in paradise.
