Making It Count – The Fernandez’s Maui Family Portrait
Some family sessions feel like reunions, the kind where time, memory, and milestones all show up together. The Fernandez family’s Maui family portrait at Wailea Beach Villas was exactly that. As returning clients who have visited Maui many times, this session felt familiar in the best way: relaxed, joyful, and rooted in trust. When you know the place and the people behind the camera, you can truly be present, and the Fernandez family leaned into that beautifully.
This trip carried extra meaning. Two major milestones were being celebrated at once: one child graduating from high school and another graduating from college. That in-between season, when one chapter is closing, and another is opening, deserves to be documented! We made space for family portraits filled with warm smiles and connection, along with individual portraits of both graduates, perfect for announcements and keepsakes. Each solo felt like a quiet pause to honor how far they’ve come. And most importantly, we took photos of everyone together!

Wailea Beach Villas provided a stunning, serene backdrop. Soft light and that unmistakable Wailea calm made everything feel elevated yet effortless. Sheri’s mother joined in as well, adding another layer of heart and history to the session. Capturing generations together and marking special milestones created moments that felt deeply meaningful.
What stood out most was the ease between everyone. Laughter was easy, smiles felt genuine, and there was an underlying sense of pride in every interaction. This wasn’t just about photos; it was about honoring growth, celebrating accomplishments, and freezing a moment in time when everyone could be together.
And let’s not forget our sparkling new graduate! This was the perfect spot on the rocks to let her shine!
We then moved to the beach to catch the sunset, and wow, did the sky deliver! It was soft, glowy, and brought all the feels to their Maui family portrait session. It couldn’t have been any more perfect!
The Fernandez’s Maui family portrait was a beautiful blend of legacy and looking forward: proof that some seasons are worth documenting from every angle.
