There are some photo sessions that stay with you, the kind where every laugh, every hug, every glance says more than words ever could. The Hale family’s Oahu family portrait at Waimanalo Beach was exactly that.
This trip to Hawaii wasn’t just a vacation. It was a Make-a-Wish dream come true for their 15-year-old son Slade, who recently finished his courageous journey through cancer treatment and is now fully recovered. Let that sink in. Isn’t that the most incredible news?! We are deeply honored to capture this momentous celebration.
This portrait session was a celebration of everything they’ve overcome. Every hard day, every moment, they held each other a little tighter. And now, finally, a time to just be together, whole, and surrounded by ocean, sunshine, and overwhelming gratitude.
With the ocean glimmering like it was cheering them on and the breeze gently rustling the trees, this family of five stepped into the sand with hearts wide open. This is a heartwarming session you won’t want to miss!

Mannix, the oldest at 17, carried that big-brother energy, steady, kind, and quietly proud. Slade, 15, was all warmth and heart, soaking up the moment that was all his. And McCoy, the youngest at 7, brought the giggles and wild joy that only a little brother can.
Their connection was magnetic. You could feel it in the way they wrapped their arms around each other, in the way Rob and Mercedi looked at their boys like they were the whole world (because, let’s be real, they are).
It was their boys’ first time in Hawaii, and only their second time at a beach, but they embraced it like seasoned islanders. Barefoot, beaming, and fully present.

What made this session so incredibly special wasn’t just the stunning backdrop of Waimanalo or the soft breeze or even the bright light; it was the journey that brought them here. The resilience. The hope. The unwavering love. Their Oahu family portrait was all about celebrating their family, the present moment, and a dream to come to Hawaii!

Mahalo, Hale ohana, for reminding us just how precious life and family truly are. It was an honor to witness your joy and document this meaningful chapter of your story. We wish you all nothing but good health and happiness! Enjoy every second of your time in the islands! We know how special this trip is for you all.

Sometimes, the best reason to take beautiful family photos is… no reason at all (except maybe: “We’re on vacation, and we all look amazing”). That’s exactly how the Braswell family approached their Big Island family portrait session on the Big Island, and honestly? We’re so glad they did. With the golden Hawaiian light streaming in
