Jacob had a plan. A very good plan. And Lianna, sweet, unsuspecting Lianna, thought she was simply showing up for a portrait session in Hawaii. You know, casual beach photos. Nothing life-altering. Just Secret Beach, golden light, and a little birthday magic.
About ten minutes in, everything changed when their portrait session turned into an Oahu proposal portrait!

As Lianna faced the camera, Jacob quietly moved into position behind her. When she turned around, there he was, down on one knee, heart on full display, asking the question he’s been carrying with him for a long time. The look on her face said everything: surprise, joy, disbelief, and that unmistakable oh my goodness this is my person feeling. She said yes, of course! (There was never really any doubt!)

Jacob and Lianna’s story started back in high school in 2013, back when they were just kids from Michigan figuring life out together. Since then, they’ve grown up side by side, moving to Florida five years ago, building a life filled with dance floors and Disney magic (Lianna), outdoor adventures and sports (Jacob), and a whole lot of laughter in between. Best friends first. Always.

After the proposal, the session shifted seamlessly into engagement portraits, soft, joyful, and glowing with that freshly-engaged energy that makes everything feel lighter. They laughed easily, held each other close, and looked exactly like two people who knew this moment would stay with them forever.
Then came the sweetest surprise: Lianna’s parents meeting them on the beach to celebrate. Hugs, happy tears, congratulations drifting through the salty air. The last moments were filled with family portraits and pure joy. It was an engagement, a birthday, and a lifelong love all wrapped into one unforgettable day!

Jacob and Lianna, congratulations! This is just the beginning, and it already feels pretty magical!
