We loved capturing John & Sara’s Maui Beach Wedding Photography! This adorable couple has always loved our island home and had the sweetest ceremony. And now we get to share some of our favorite images from their day!

Honestly, we were a bit anxious on John & Sara’s wedding day. It was overcast and rainy, and this kindhearted pair deserved only the best. But when we tell you they were an absolute joy despite the looming clouds, we mean it!

John & Sara arrived to the beach with only smiles. Turned out, we were more worried about the weather than they were. These two were ready to have a great time no matter what!

The rain lingered as we headed out to the beach to begin their ceremony. But it’s like the brightness of their love broke apart the clouds, creating dreamy skies for their Maui Beach Wedding Photography. What a relief!

Hometown Sweethearts

One of our favorite things about capturing Maui Beach Wedding Photography is learning about the wonderful couples who marry here. John & Sara are especially sweet, and their love story is as cute as can be!

They first met when they were both working at their hometown grocery store. They were young and flirty, always making excuses to talk to each other. Sara would sneak a few minutes of off-time during John’s lunch, and John would always have some reason to go to the bakery department where Sara worked. 

But despite their romantic spark, they didn’t end up dating during their time as coworkers. Instead, they formed a great friendship that served them well when they reconnected three years later. 

When the timing was right, these two found themselves in an incredible relationship. They’re each other’s biggest supporters and are always up for an adventure. 

And now they are beginning a new chapter of their lives together. Now that they’ve tied the knot (complete with beautiful Maui Beach Wedding Photography), it’s time for them to find even more love and adventure. We’ve seen how happy and fun these two are, so we know there are great things in store for them!

It’s Always Been You, and it’s Always Been Maui

Maui has played a pivotal role in John & Sara’s love story. When they reconnected over text, Sara was actually on our island, on a birthday trip with her mom. Unlike their workplace flirting years earlier, this time their conversation led to a real relationship. We think some Maui magic may have played a part in that!

Four years later, it was time for John & Sara to take their first big vacation together. They chose to visit Maui, and it was a wonderful time! They went sightseeing, hiking, relaxing, and snorkeling right here in Wailea, near where they had their Maui Beach Wedding Photography. 

As they came to shore after a fun snorkeling session, John surprised Sara with a ring and a proposal! It was such a romantic memory, and they were already planning their next trip to Hawaii. 

Their engagement happened in 2019, so planning a wedding the following year became a nearly impossible task. Here is what Sara wrote to us when she booked Maui Beach Wedding Photography and Coordination:

“After 2 years of Covid wedding planning nonsense I made the executive decision to have a small, intimate wedding where some of our happiest memories were made. We couldn’t be happier with our decision, and our families are looking forward to joining us for an intimate ceremony and a peaceful vacation on the island.”

While we’re sorry to hear that their wedding planning caused them so much stress, we’re glad they ended up marrying here on Maui. It was already such a meaningful place for him, and now they’ve created even more memories here!
