Last week, we had the honor of being Koa & Rachel’s photographer in Kauai. We met this playful pair at Shipwrecks Beach shortly before sunset, so we got incredible portraits while the sky filled with vibrant colors.

Best of all? They brought their adorable daughter along, transforming this Kauai’s couple photography into a dreamy family session.

Their Love Grows

Koa & Rachel were dream clients — the type of people we love working with as a photographer in Kauai. They showed up in great spirits, ready to be guided through portraits that showcased their romantic energy and laid-back spirit. 

And then their little daughter Reiko joined in on the fun! This smiley sweetie brightens up her parents’ lives, and she brightened up our Kauai portrait session too! Sure, having a baby is a big adjustment for anyone, but Koa and Rachel seem to be growing as a couple and as individuals thanks to this new joy. Her coos are the songs they dance to, her odd hours are their favorite times, and they now see the world (and each other) through her bright, new eyes.

We also love how Koa & Rachel took the time to embrace and enjoy each other’s company during their time with a Kauai photographer. Their couple’s portraits show how their bond has grown and strengthened, and we’re so grateful we got to capture it!

Showcasing Their Home with a Kauai Photographer

During their session, Koa & Rachel got to freeze time, capturing their romance and their adorable baby. But they also got to highlight their home. That’s right, this amazing couple calls Hawaii home. So they’ll always be able to look at these images and see a place they love: the scenery they raise Reiko around, the ocean they drive alongside as they head home to each other after a day of work, the breezes they’ve felt as they grew up here. 

As a Kauai photographer, we get to meet a lot of people who appreciate the island’s unique beauty. But working with a couple who lives and breathes it every day is extra special.
