Some love stories feel like they were meant to unfold under golden light and ocean breezes. For Kristen and Joey, their Oahu wedding at Kailana Chapel was the perfect reflection of everything they value: love, laughter, family, and simplicity. Their day embodied the beauty of Oahu wedding photography: timeless, intimate, and filled with heart!
They first met at a welcome pool party during their freshman year at the University of Central Florida, a chance meeting that turned into a lifelong love. Seven years later, they exchanged vows on their anniversary, surrounded by the peaceful rhythm of the ocean and the people who mean the most to them. It doesn’t get any more romantic than that!
Kristen’s connection to Oahu began when she was just 17, singing in a choir at the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. It was her favorite place in the world, rich in beauty and culture. Joey had never been to Hawaii, so when they began planning their wedding, it felt natural to share this special island together. A small, meaningful celebration in Hawaii was the first time wedding planning felt exciting, not overwhelming. And that’s exactly what their special day was!

Kristen and Joey’s ceremony was pure island romance from start to finish! They exchanged vows on the deck overlooking the ocean, where the soft sound of waves mingled with laughter and happy tears. Framing the scene were two stunning floral silk towers, lush with tropical blooms in soft pastels and greenery, creating a dreamy archway that seemed to blend seamlessly with the horizon. It was absolutely stunning!
The atmosphere was calm and full of joy, everything they’d hoped for. Kristen, a clinical social worker, and Joey, a data analyst for the New York Yankees, are best friends who find joy in the simplest things: cooking together, trying new foods, watching baseball, and laughing endlessly.

Their portraits captured the heart of Oahu wedding photography, the glow of love, the sparkle of ocean light, and two people completely at home with each other. Our photographer took full advantage of the beautiful floral towers to frame our lovely newlyweds.
Afterwards, they snuck away for more beautiful portraits to continue their Oahu wedding photography. The lush grounds and beautiful chapel were the most idyllic settings for their first moments as husband and wife! There are so many beautiful, tucked-away spots for romantic and intimate moments. From the ocean view deck to the lush grounds, there were endless gorgeous photographic opportunities for these lovebirds! Just scroll down to see for yourself…

Congratulations, Kristen and Joey! Your Oahu wedding was pure magic, beautifully true to who you are. We wish you nothing but joy and happiness!
