Mornings in Hawaii are basically nature’s way of showing off. And on this particular morning, the Tang family reminded us exactly why we adore being Oahu family photographers. With soft golden light, gentle waves, and the sweetest giggles from soon-to-be-nine-year-old Valerie, this Oahu family portrait session was pure sunshine in photo form.
From the moment we met the Tang family, we knew this shoot would be special. They’ve been visiting Hawaii since Valerie was just one year old, and after a COVID-induced hiatus, they’re back for the second time this year. Honestly, our kind of people!

Valerie absolutely stole the show with her bright smile, playful energy, and radiant little presence. We made sure to capture beautiful solo portraits of her, plus sweet combos with mom and dad, because every stage of childhood is a fleeting masterpiece, and let’s be honest, these are the moments we all wish we could bottle up. How cute is she in her lilac ensemble!? She’s a natural in front of the camera!
Our photography style leans heavily into natural light and heartfelt connection, and the lush grounds of the Four Seasons were perfect for that. It gave everything a dreamy glow and helped us create images that feel relaxed, warm, and totally authentic.

Whether it’s your first family portrait or your fiftieth, there’s something profoundly important about pressing pause and capturing your ohana just as you are right now. Because kids grow up (too fast), time flies, and having these tangible memories, especially in a place as beautiful and meaningful as Hawaii, is nothing short of magic. Just take it from the Tang family! These memories will be cherished in their hearts for years to come…

Mahalo to the Tang family for letting us freeze this moment in time. We’re already looking forward to next year’s aloha-filled adventure!

Some moments deserve to be frozen in time, and for the Sullivans, this one? It was long overdue, sun-drenched, and so full of love. Their Big Island family portrait at Pauoa Bay Beach was the kind of shoot that felt easy, breezy, and quietly monumental. A celebration of where they’ve been, and the beauty of
