Ten years ago, the Yanchaks visited Hawaii and gifted a Maui family portrait session to their parents, one of those heartfelt “let’s freeze time” gestures that turned into beautifully framed keepsakes. This time, they returned to Maui as a family of four, with two sweet, sunshine-filled kids and a whole new chapter to document. And honestly? Their portrait session felt like the most joyful kind of full-circle moment.
As their Maui family photographer, we had the honor of capturing this milestone for them, and it was magic from the very first laugh. The light was dreamy, the breeze gentle, and their energy? Pure delight. The kiddos, Emily and Luke, were full of life, running through the waves, grinning from ear to ear, and radiating that warm, carefree sparkle that makes photographing families so rewarding!

Maluaka Beach gave us the perfect mix of rugged lava rock, soft sand, and that glowing morning sun. From piggyback rides to playful chases, every frame told the story of a family who loves well and laughs freely.
And here’s the thing: taking family photos in Hawaii isn’t just about a pretty background (though, let’s be real, Maui is showing off constantly). It’s about creating space to be present. It’s about celebrating where you’ve been, and to hold onto the magic of who you are right now.

With their two sweet kiddos in tow, this session felt like joy personified. The laughter came easy, the hugs were tight, and their little ones brought a wild sparkle to every moment.
And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better… the sunset happened.
Maluaka is one of those places where the golden light hits just right, wrapping around you like a soft blanket and making everything feel like a movie scene. As the sun dipped lower, we snuck in those golden hour shots that always feel like magic. It couldn’t have been more perfect for their Maui family portrait!

Yanchak family, mahalo for letting us be part of your journey once again. It’s an honor to witness your growing story, one wave-soaked moment at a time!

There are some photo sessions that stay with you, the kind where every laugh, every hug, every glance says more than words ever could. The Hale family’s Oahu family portrait at Waimanalo Beach was exactly that. This trip to Hawaii wasn’t just a vacation. It was a Make-a-Wish dream come true for their 15-year-old son
