Mariya and Eric’s Maui couples portrait was as golden as their love! The couple had previously tied the knot in Maui! Their 5th wedding anniversary is coming up in September, so they decided to make a special trip back to the island in commemoration. We were so happy to capture new memories in a place that is so significant in their love story…

Their photo session began at a rustic pavilion just off Kanaha Beach, providing a beautiful golden light that flooded the area. As the shoot progressed, we made our way down to the shoreline, capturing more romantic moments with the calm waters. Usually, this beach can be quite windy, but it was as calm as could be for their Maui couples portraits! We always take advantage of natural elements for added visual interest (and a seat!), like this driftwood log that washed ashore. It acted like a front-row seat for the unfolding sunset!

As the sun set, we captured some truly stunning photos with the dreamy lighting only sunset can provide. This was a nostalgic moment for Mariya and Eric; they were beaming with happiness to return to where their married life first began.

The bond that Mariya and Eric share is evident in every shot – they are natural and at ease in each other’s company. This made the entire session so easy and enjoyable, and their love and warmth were palpable…just like the golden hour sun!
