For their very first trip to Hawaii, Reese planned a secret two-day getaway to Maui with one goal in mind: to ask Kylie to spend forever with him. Together for 2.5 years after meeting in college, they’ve built a life of love and adventure, Kylie busy with nursing school, Reese with his job, and both of them treasuring beach vacations and photography as their shared happy place. So when it came time to propose, there really was no better backdrop than Maui’s dramatic cliffs, soft sand, and rolling waves. He planned it so smoothly with a “couple’s portrait” (so she could dress and look her best; wise move, Reese!) and then just when she least expected it…the moment happened!
When Time Stood Still
The proposal itself was timed perfectly, golden hour, when the sun melts into the horizon and everything is wrapped in honeyed light. When Reese led Kylie to the spot, surrounded by glowing cliffs and the roar of the Pacific, and dropped to one knee, it was nothing short of cinematic. She said yes, of course, how could she not? It doesn’t get any more epic or romantic than this, does it?!
