Some places hold your history so gently that returning feels like being welcomed home. For the Cleal family, their Maui family portrait session at DT Fleming Beach was exactly that. It was a joyful return layered with memory, laughter, and a whole lot of love. They’ve visited Maui a few times over the years, but this trip carried extra meaning. That dynamic made the session feel effortless and real, full of movement and genuine smiles rather than stiff poses…Keep reading to see more!

DT Fleming Beach delivered its signature drama: sweeping shoreline, beautiful water, and dynamic light, giving us a beautiful variety of backdrops. We captured playful moments with Callie front and center while her parents faded softly into the background, quiet recreations of wedding-day poses (with a sweet twist), and active moments filled with walking, splashing, and laughter near the water’s edge. It felt like a story unfolding rather than a checklist of photos.

This was their third session with Karma Hill Photography, including their wedding, and it showed! There was trust, ease, and a shared love for preserving meaningful moments. Toward the end, grandparents joined in, adding another layer of heart (and a few gentle reminders to keep eyes open). They all eventually got in the water and had a blast! It was such a fun time!

It was a session filled with nostalgia and love. And now a beautiful reminder that family photos aren’t just about how things look, but about honoring how far you’ve come and who you’re becoming together! We hope you had the best time!
